This is the second iteration of the original Seiko 5 Sports model, which was released in June 1968. With this ‘re-creation’, Seiko offers two dial colours that were popular at the time of the original release. The case has been recreated as accurately as possible to achieve a size and shape that is almost identical to the original model, while the watch has been modernised and the movement improved by inserting a 4R36 inside.
Details such as the shape of the horns and the size of the crown have been updated to reflect the need for practicality and comfort. The model adopts a robust stainless steel bracelet with a similar design to the original bracelet of the first collection. The addition of a calfskin strap with racing-style perforations enhances the retro look of the model.
